The beautifully marked and streaked Europe's common Snipe is a frequenter of marshes, water courses, rivers and reed-beds. It has a long beak that it prods in the mud or clay so as to extract worms or other fresh or brackish water or insects. Photo taken by a Canon camera 5D Mark II using a 500 mm lens. ASA 400 and 400 speed at f11.
