  Thank you, Teresa and John. Yes, they are very shy, but this one has been hanging around our home for a few years now, and once in awhile perches into the tree closest to the house, which is what he did yesterday. He doesn't pay any attention to me inside the house, so I jus shoot through the window. <><

  Great shot, no you are still out front, in my younger days I us to watch the shrikes hang pray on barb wire fence. For there size they will tackle small snakes, lizards and mice. They usually catch more than they eat.

  Thank you, Micky, you are so kind. I have heard that the shrike does use the barb wire to kill it's prey. I have seen him beat his catch on the limbs of our trees. <><
