Face of a Spider

This little guy could have stood on a penny and had plenty of room (wish I had thought to put one down and tried to get him on it). I am just amazed as I look at his face on the computer screen. I thought I would share. I used a flash with light diffusion attached.

Thank you, Teresa! Yeah, I am not a fan of spiders. He was just so tiny he didn't seem harmful. I used a Canon MP-E 65mm 1X-5X macro lens at 4X.

Thank you, Karen, Linda and Patti for your very nice comments! Yeah, it does take some of the scary out of spiders for me. This guy was so tiny that I figured I was safe.

An awesome close up Shirley! Our Aussie spiders don't encourage you to get up close and personal to them!

Thank you, John. I am not one for getting too close to spiders either, but this was one tiny little harmless looking guy. Turns out, cute too!

Now that's a little TOO up-front-and-personal for me. But it's a fantastic macro, Shirley, and that face IS cute. A Fave for me. Hope we see it again.

Thank you, Patrick. I love macro too, especially of little creatures like this, because you can see them up close and the details you would never see with your naked eye. For walk around taking shots, the 100mm 2.8L IS lens is excellent. With this shot, I used the MP-E 65 1X-5X at 4X. That isn't a lens you just walk around taking shots with normally though. It needs a tripod. I leaned it against the bed for this shot, using a flash too. I hope that helps.
