Blending Man-Made with Nature ~ Japan
Located an hour out of Kyoto in the Shiga Prefecture, the Miho Museum was designed by architect I.M. Pei, whose other works include the glass pyramid of the Louvre Museum and the East Wing of the National Gallery in Washington D.C. Eighty percent of the museum’s structure is underground, preserving the natural environment and assimilating it into the surrounding scenery.
Thanks for looking!
