Just noticed something interesting--the gray owl's eye shows a slitted iris, while the brown owl has a full round iris. Must research owl eyes!

I looked thru other photos of these two owls--one or two shots have more like a normal pupil--maybe this is part of a lid. Thanks so much for the comments
