Natural sunlight and an old piece of barbed wire make this special for me.

It's nice and sharp and the color looks good. But from my own experience, composition is really important also.

I am finding that improving my placement of my subjects, helps to receive recognition from the judges. Perhaps, cropping part of the top and bottom of the image would improve the Rule of Thirds composition better. Try and re-enter this again.

I love the simplicity of the 3 elements...bird, barbed wire, and exquisite natural light. Very beautiful work, James. The details are great.

Thanks for your comments. I am well aware of the rule of thirds, but it doesn't rule my photography. My photography is an expression of what I see and if I like it I am not concerned with what the judges think. I don't want to be part of the blob of photographers who live by the rule. No offense intended. jfs

I know about the rule of thirds but I don't always follow it. If I like it I don't worry about the judges. I have seen some of the photos they pick as winners. Thanks for the advice.
