Windows on Chestnut
f/ 16, 1/80 sec., ISO-160, Sigma 18-200MM F3.5-6.3 lens at 100mm, 03:58 PM, Philadelphia, PA. I converted this to black and white as well but just had to get a reaction to the color. The curtains seem overwhelmed by the architecture and lighting in the BW version. BW version follows.

I changed my BW conversion recently. I used to do a new layer of levels and a layer of gradient map and then adjust each of the RGB channels in the layers dialog by using the slider only. Now in the channel adjustments I've been using resetting the white point on the Red channel, the black point on the Green channel and then resetting the White, Black and Grey points on the Blue channel. Not sure if it works better or not.

Both are wonderful images, but I absolutely love the color version, Robert. I really like what the curtains add to the image, but in particular, I like the beautiful colors in the brick and stone.

Terrific full frame with dramatic low key light, vibrant color and beautiful effects, Robert!! Both versions are terrific but I, too like the color one.
