Bio

Got my first camera when I was a teenager - Pentax K1000. Loved to experiment with it but my interest waned when I entered college. Now that I've been on the job for several years dealing with computers, I started playing around with digital photography and Photoshop. I've owned several digital so called 'prosumer' cameras but always had my heart set on a Nikon DSLR. Finally my time had come but I ended up going with the Canon 10D because of the affordablity and CMOS technology....now wishing I had gone the Nikon route because of the optics...oh well. I am a Database Administrator at a local community college which helps me to understand the 1's and 0's of digital. I'll never go back to film, unless it's with scanned medium format cause it's all about the image quality baby. Speaking of which, I have a new subject in my life and she is just the gem in her father's eye. Ellie's image is sure to show up on this site from time to time. I have a few very fast lenses because I have yet to invest in a lighting system so I do a lot of low light work - for now. Eventually, I would like to expand my hobby into a side business doing portrait and fine art work. I hope that the proceeds can help pay for mine and my daughter's future educational needs. My thoughts on digital photography can be summed up in these words; I think that digital imagery is like a movie, they start out one way but could have a myriad of alternate endings. My work has appeared in local publications such as the Herald Mail and Antietam Review, on the Kodaktron in Times Square and in the UK publication Digital Camera Magazine.
