The time given to each of us in this life is different. No matter the exact amount, however, it never seems to be enough. Yet, the more we try to cram in to each second, the more we tend to lose by not savoring the moments as they pass. My photographs allow me to stop time for a brief period and savor the captured moments during more quiet periods in my day. They also allow me to share a few of those moments with others.
I enjoy photographs mostly because the stories they tell depend, in large measure, to the experiences we each bring when viewing them. Sometimes, not always, they help one to retrieve a memory once thought lost forever.
I hope you find something in my photographs that brings a warmth to your hearts and, perhaps, a smile to your eyes.

An Associate Professor at the University of North Dakota, I am currently researching Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
Photography has been a lifelong passion though I never took the time to pursue it as I would have liked.
I took the digital plunge with a Canon G-5 (present from fantastic family) upgraded to Canon 10D and now shoot a Canon 40D. This camera is outstanding! Learning is my greatest passion, especially when I can learn from those who've been doing something longer than myself or have really developed their style. All comments are greatly appreciated as they are essential in the learning process.
I'd like to take some space to thank my wonderful wife Becky for the major support she has been to me over the years. She understands my passions. I am grateful for her insights and, well, patience, when I get overly focused on my hobbies. She truly is one in a million.
Thanks again for viewing my gallery. I hope you find something that puts a smile in your heart.
