I remember going to a State Art Symposium when I was a sophomore in high school. Our art teacher rarely let sophomores go and never freshmen to the symposium. So I felt honored and overwhelmed when she asked me and one other sophomore to go. At that college where the symposium was held was of course recruiters from lots of different schools and colleges. They all had their booths set up to show what they had to offer, and why we would benefit from going to their schools. Still having 2 plus years of high school left I really didn't care about their schools, but one booth definitely stood out to me. I don't remember what school it was or what the software on the computer was, (this was long before windows 95!) but I remember the camera that was set up to take pictures and the images appearing on the computer screen! We were all really impressed! That was cutting edge technology, and it could only print black and white and very dot matrix! I still have the printout of me and my friend Shanda.
I never thought back then that this intrest I had in taking pictures would lead me to professional work. This isn't even my day job, but by word of mouth I have shot weddings, announcements, portaits, done restorations, retouching, and even judged our county fair for the last 3 years.
