Hi,
I started taking photos many years ago but on looking back now I really hadn`t any idea then as to what I was supposed to be doing. It was most definitely `Point and Shoot` photography. Then for many years I did not have a camera at all. In October 2003 I purchased a digital camera and a short time thereafter I signed up for a Betterphoto.com course with Kerry Drager and after that I was hooked. Since then I have taken several other Betterphoto classes but I have to thank Kerry, and indeed will always be grateful to him, for setting me on the right path at the outset with all his sound advice and constructive critiques.
During this class I also became friendly with another student called Ed Heaton, who also was voted top student of the class, and we have remained friends ever since. Ed has since turned Professional and now runs his own workshops etc. You can see how well Ed has progressed since then by taking a look at his work at www.edheaton.com.
Personally, I am only now beginning to really appreciate how good that course and advice was as my own knowledge and studying of photography increases. I do however appreciate that I still have a long way to go yet but now that I`ve retired I will have more time to pursue my interest. Finally, I am really glad that I do have such a wonderful hobby to pursue as it gives me something to do and think about and gets me out and about in the good fresh air and close to God`s beautiful creations.
