Let's see: I live in Los Angeles with my wife Danielle and my daugher Samantha Rose (two and a half at the time of this writing) and our dog, a standard poodle named Jed (who'll be four in August). I'm a feature-film editor with an Academy Award nomination and I am also a Professor of Cinema at Chapman University where I teach advanced editing. I've written a critical study of the American film director Sam Peckinpah. My other interests are music (mostly classical, traditional jazz, and pop), theatre, painting, sound reproducing equipment (I review highend stereo equipment for The Absolute Sound magazine). Photography is a relatively recent pursuit, but I've gone at it in a big way. A few years ago I started, more casually than not, with an Olympus eVolt 300 and a Canon D3 point and shoot; then last year I bought both a Nikon D300 and D700 and several lenses. Alas, I've been pretty much LA bound owing to a feature I was working on, so unable to travel as much as I'd like, so my subjects have been pretty much limited to Los Angeles and other parts of Southern California, and quite a number of my family, including the dog (see portfolio).
