During my first few years of phtography, I took pictures of many different topics, like many photographers. As I explored my creativity, I realized I was noticing details of my environment that others around me were dismissing. I would be the one to spot the spider web in the dark corner or the raindrops on a window. It was these details that were driving me to take better pictures.
Nature has the ability to astound us on many levels. Man-made objects have the same ability to amaze as does nature. However, most just notice the bigger picture of a situation and miss the small details. Or, they may even see the details in passing, but do not notice the complexity in those details.
In my photographs, I am trying to capture the experience of those details. My photos are meant to inspure feelings in the viewer. Not just visually, but also touch and feel. I want the viewer to not only see the water on the glass, but feel like the picture itself is a three dimensional experience which is actually wet.
Because of the nature of the objects I photograph, they also only exist at a particular moment in time that are fleeting. The sunset hitting a cats eyes, the flow of water near a waterfall or the ice on the window of a plane. All exist only for a short period of time before they become the past and their reality changes.
Life is a series of experiences. Every person takes something different from what they see., My photographs are taken from a different point of view, like looking at the world with a child’s eye. Enjoy seeing, touching, experiencing my reality.
