I retired in 2005 after 32 years of teaching 6th grade. I now have time to do some of the creative things I always wanted to try. Photography has become a great hobby for me. When I received a digital camera and started to print my own pictures I really became interested in how to produce photos that I could hang on my walls. I found close ups of flowers to be the most interesting. I have always loved birds, too, but for now I am concentrating on flowers. Besides, flowers stay in one place and don't fly away when I am trying to get a good shot. I would someday like to get a SLR camera, but my Olympus works for me right now. I have been married 32 years and have a 13 year old Brittany Spaniel named Chelsea.
I need to update my bio because there have been some changes. I bought my first DSLR camera in June of 08. It is an Olympus E510. It came with 2 kit lenses which are excellent and I recently ordered a 70-300mm telephoto which gets me much closer to the wildlife I want to shoot. I still like to shoot flowers, but birds are my main focus at this time.
We lost our dear Chelsea in August of 08 and it hurt me deeply. When I can, I will put some pictures of her in my gallery in loving memory of a special girl.
