I started in photography in the late seventies with a Canon Rebel AE-1. It was the beginning of polishing a jewel. The cost of film delevopment set me back awhile. Now, the digital age is here I can play around with the exposures, apertures, and shutter speed more freely without worrying about cost. The jewel isn't shining completely but I am loving the roughness being polished off. I am currently disabled and I sit on my back porch to take most of my photos. Once in awhile, I will take short walks and rides to find something that might thrill me and if it thrills me hopefully it will thrill someone else. My photography goals are unlimited now since I have the time and the digital camera. The only thing holding me back is my mobility. Besides photography, I love spending time with good friends and family. Another of my interests is cultivating a vegetable and flower garden when my health allows me to do it. My gear I have now is a Canon Rebel XTi, 3 lenses, cable release, tripod, and a small pocket digital camera when I don't feel like carrying the big boy around. I have a lovely wife and two adult children. The pets we have are one dog and two cats.
Lastly my favorite quote from a great photographer Ansel Adams:
All I can do in my writing is to stimulate a certain amount of thought, clarify some technical facts and date my work. But when I preach sharpness, brilliancy, scale, etc., I am just mouthing words, because no words can really describe those terms and qualities it takes the actual print to say, "here it is." -Ansel Adams
