Bio

I began taking photos in 1968 with a polaroid camera. I bought my first 35mm camera, a Minolta SRT 101 in 1970 at college. I have been taking pictures ever since. Although I have used 35mm, 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 and 4x5 film formats in the past, I use a digital camera now almost exclusively. My interest is to capture form, shapes and colors with strong design and emotion. My subjects are typically flowers and cars. I admire the powerful compositions of Cartier-Bresson and the elegant designs of Micheal Kenna. My strongest influence is from Ansel Adams and I was fortunate to attend two Yosemite workshops with him in the mid 70's. That has been my only formal training. I take photographs mainly for myself but I enjoy it if others find them meaningful.
