NEWS FLASH: Three photos have just been accepted by a museum!!!! My photos are sold through various stock agencies around the world.
Largely self-taught, Margaret first learned photography in the 6th grade as part of a Girl Scout badge on cameras. Oddly enough, none of her first few rolls of pictures turned out. Despite that inauspicious start, Margaret continued to take pictures, eventually making the move to a Canon AE-1 fully manual camera. Later she started using a Nikon N2020. Currently, Margaret uses both a Canon digital SLR and a Nikon N80 film camera.
Her photographs were purchased by US News and World Reports in 1988, although the magazine never used them. In spite of this somewhat successful foray into the world of photography, a long lapse occured until January, 2003, when she rediscovered her passion for photography. She has had three exhibits this year, with several others in the pipeline, including one upcoming at a museum in Florida, and her work is also in private collections around the United States as well as China and Australia. She has also received numerous commissions, including one for a new high-end land excursion tour company based in South Africa. Her photographs can also be seen at the websites of Selby Gardens, National Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. government, and TakeGreatPhotos.com, among others.
Her specific interests include landscapes, both rural and urban; horses; and birds.
She is married and has one daughter, one very needy English cocker spaniel, and a Yorkie.
She has both a bachelor's and a master's degrees in foreign policy, both of which are of very little use whatsoever in photography.
Recent trips include Hawaii; Colorado and Utah; and Belize and Guatemala. Future trips include South Africa and Saint Martin/Sint Maarten.
