Thank you for visiting...
I have loved taking pictures for as long as I can remember - (which is longer than I care to admit). I grew up in Chicago and live in a far northern suburb, just south of the Wisconsin border, with my son and all our animals.
The only place I ever truly feel at peace - the only place I'm ever able to relax is in nature. A huge thrill for me is to capture nature in a photograph that forces your senses into believing you are there.
Bringing images to life is my personal goal as opposed to creating pictures that appear to be black and white strip cartoons, just waiting to come alive with texture and color.
I am currently working as a freelance photographer, with ongoing assignments with the National Parks, the Navy and on occasion Greenpeace. I also work as a stringer to several Chicagoland and US Navy Newspapers.
I shoot with Nikon equipment, primarily my D200. I also have a medium format Mamiya camera, but I'm spoiled by digital and haven't used the 645AF in a long time.
I feel very fortunate - very blessed to be able to do what I love.
