Nice photo Dale!! I think you mean Well's River or Waitsfield though. There is no Wait's River that I'm aware of here in Vermont. Judy #79343

Well let a Texan horn in here--it is Waits River Village and is near East Orange. See page 28 of DeLorme's Vermont atlas and gazetteer. I've shot this scene several times but never in winter. Well done, Dale. #79352

My apologies Dale...I didn't recognize the name, I had checked my atlas before I made the other comment and it wasn't on there. My mom just stopped in briefly and I asked her, she didn't recognize it either. I did a search of some online Vermont maps, couldn't find it, so then I typed in Wait's River on a search engine, and found it. The opening page was about the same as your shot but in a different season. Sorry about that, it's kind of embarrassing to be so close and not recognize it. #79360

Hey Judy it happens to me here in Texas all the time--who ever heard of Apple Springs, Texas? You really should visit Waits River and the surrounding area in October. It is beautiful!! #79370

I will definitely make it a point to do that Murry. Thanks for correcting me on that, I would've hated to be the source of Dale thinking he was losing it. Judy #79419

Thanks all for the comments. Sorry I missed the conversation. Waits River is located approximately 12 miles west of Bradford VT. on RT. 25. Just opposite the church there is a small road going down a hill. When you look back you will see the scene. Late afternoon is a good time to photograph here because the sun will be behind you. There is another church in E. Orange that is well photographed as well. #79479
