Some Ol' Side Road

Uploaded: April 08, 2010

Description

Comanche County, Texas

"Just a stone's throw east of Comanche on "Texas 36" is the infamous "Deep Shit Cattle Co.", nothing spectacular other than the sign at the entrance to the ranch which most passersby, photographers 'n local folks find amusing and take the time to stop, gawk and snap a few. Just as I approached the shoulder of the road the lighting changed in my favor and the clouds were spectacular fluffy whites with gray. I popped off a few shots and jumped back into the saddle for Comanche. Not a bad ride, stopped to capture a few windmills and old ranch houses. Pulled into the dusty main drag of Comanche and started looking for the local Dairy Queen ... it's a Texas thang." (Comanche Ride, Jim Baines, March 2010)
