Thank you all for the compliments, so sorry for the misleading description of the area. A few miles where I live here in the San Fernando Valley is a Japanese Garden close to the Lake Balboa Reacreation Park, Van Nuys. I did not mean to confuse you Ysa and Ann with the Balboa Park of San Diego where I had taken some earlier shots too about a couple of years ago I think. #8515916

Reynaldo- I have to learn to change my sky like this. I am sure we all have had shots that are so pretty and yet the blah sky ruins the picture. Love what you did here with that. Love the pov you used here, looking up at it, right under it. The pose out on the limb with its wings spread is awesome. My friend, you show such talent in the way you show the colors and the phenominal details of the wings and the rest of the bird. Amazing.

Gorgeous colors and tack-sharp details in this bird portrait, Rey. No wonder it made Finalist ~ belated CONGRATULATIONS on that!
Your typically perfect composition really stands out here, with the clouds framing his head. And those extended wings make him look so majestic. Great timing, and great choice of sky-switch!

You mentioned "the blues" keeping you off-site awhile. I frequently go into "hibernation", myself. It seems many bp people have such down-times...but we are ARTISTS (or maybe artistes), and entitled to our flexible moods, as were Beethoven, Van Gogh, and Dickens! I think we're in pretty good company. :-D
