Description

Venice Italy
twilight time
I was attracted by the colors of this scene created by the twilight skies and the canal lights. I was standing on a bridge above this canal, placed my camera on the tripod, framed the image I wanted, and then I waited for a gondola to pass the bridge and appear on the lower part of the frame. I used a slow shutter speed and narrow aperture to create the motion affect and the deep depth of field. Actually, I took a couple of shots from that points with slightly different shutter speeds and chose the one which gave the effect I was looking for – slightly blurred so it will resemble a painting.

I like the light, the lines, the boaters blurred motion......Maybe crop the top down to the bottom of whatever that antenna (sp?) is sticking up or clone it out??

Thanks all.

I needed the top of the image since I think it gives the right amount of skies to balance the yellowish lights. It also breaks the symmetry otherwise imposed. Unfortunately, the antenna is standing there. I don't think it creates a huge distraction and I am not digitally manipulating my images (besides trying to make them as close as possible to the original slide). #1533536
