Joan, I am one of those that, in general, likes a more natural photo. Thus, I like the original better than the edit. The colors in the edited version, especially in the sky looked very unnatural to me. I think the colors of the ground and the cactus itself look good in the edited version, but to me the new sky takes away from the photo. Perhaps keeping the new and going back to the original sky might work? #9950650

LOL... the revisited one is the real sky, and I have no idea where I got the replacement sky on the original. You are right though that the blue of the sky here looks more blue, than I intended. I will go back and fix that... Thanks Mike! #9950746

Here it is closer to its natural state....

LOL... told ya I was doing Dale's challenge in reverse!! #9950828

Dale Hardin January 27, 2012

So which is which? :o) I assume the one labeled "he went that-a-way" is the original and is the better shot of the two. Agree with Mike that the makeover does not look natural, nor do the colors of the foreground.

Of course, if you're going for an "artisic" version then the colors in the "revisited" version work very well. #9951063

ROFL... ok.... the one with the editors pick is the original, which has a replacement sky, the other two are the re submissions. As I said.... I was attempting to do your Challenge Dale, but lack of use of what editing skills I ever once had, probably means I am reversing your challenge, by doing a worse job that I did initially. But then again, I always seem to live my life in reverse overall, why should photography be any different. HOWEVER.... I at least attempted the challenge for a change LOL. #9951165

All I know is that this made me think of The Three Amigos. I need to watch that again. These are both very unique. #9951228

I personally like the 'he went thataway (revisited) the best. The surreal colors and the humor remind me of the movie 'The Wizard of OZ'. :~) #9951575

Thank you all.... at my feeble attempt at a comeback!! Actually, there were a couple of others I would have preferred to have done.... but due my my poor filing habits, and the fact that I have changed computers at least three times, I couldn't find the originals....

I did find the cacti in Arizona fairly hilarious! they had such distinct personalities... this one reminded me of a Car rally race I had the mis-privaledge of being a part of in my early twenty, sitting at 4 way section road on the bald featureless prairie, trying to decide which way we needed to go.... there happened to be 3 of us, and we all pointed different directions! #9951605

It is late I have read this thread a couple times and am still kind of confused! I like the 1st 2 for different reasons, I like the dreamy quality of the revisited..
It is good to see you back!! #9953085

Teresa H. Hunt January 29, 2012

Aimee, I thought of 'Wizard of Oz' too :)

I like the one that received the editors pick, it looks more releastic. But I also like your last edited version as well, however the cacti seems to have lost some of its original color. #9954511
