Description

The Eagles nest went down today {Windy day} at 1:15PM as I was driving in. All 4 eagles were in the nest at the time.Edith,Archie and Meathead flew to the ground and are ok but Gloria may be injured. The Eaglets stayed on the ground as the Parents flew overhead to protect them.Maitland Birds Of Prey were called and responded Immediatly to rescue the Eaglets, they were Wonderful!!!. Both Eaglets were taken, caged and are now at the Sanctuary to be examined, treated and held untill they can fly on they`re own. They will then be released back at the cemetery as Mom and Dad will be waiting for them there.A Sad day,I`m posting the pix on my site.

This has ruined my day and I can only image how you must feel.
They have given us all so much enjoyment over the past few months.
I hope the little ones make a quick return.

Unbelievable Hal, you guys must be sick today. Probably fatal if this happened weeks ago, but by the size of your babies I bet they will be back soon with their folks! #8453382

What a tragedy Hal! Still the wildlife organisation should be able to remedy the situation! Fingers crossed! #8453391

Oh no! I'm so sorry Hal. We had a huge eagles nest in our neighborhood and the same thing happened to it. It has always amazed me how they will make their nests in dead or dying trees. Thanks for such a wonderful series, I've enjoyed each and every post of yours. #8457148

Hal...I was away from BP over most of the weekend and am just catching up. So sorry to see what has happened and also glad to see/hear that all turned out so well(I looked ahead at your other photos). It must have been very disturbing to you seeing this unfold...but you have chronicled the lives of this family so well. Great work!!! #8457926

How devastating that the nest fell, Hal! How great you had a quick 911 response.
