I Have a Secret
Uploaded: June 23, 2005
This portrait of my daughter looks to me like she has a secret, like she is glancing back at you, wondering if she should tell you what she knows.
This is another portrait taken on June 13. My camera was set on the portrait mode. The lighting was a combination of natural light from a window and one continuous light bounced off a white umbrella. The photo was edited with Pain Shop Pro 6. (I converted the photo to black and white, despeckled, used unsharp mask, brightened, increased contrast, and cropped.)

I love that pose and frame! So she is georgeus for sure, you must be very proud of her. To me you went little too far with the contrast and eyes are little too white and lashes litte too "clumpy" for a young girl. There is also plenty of glare in her lips I'd try dimming them a little? But this is an awesome image to work on! #1539854Heather Harpel July 01, 2005
Thanks so much for the comments and advice, Kirsi! I played around some with this photo, and I did get a better result. All except the lashes, which I couldn't do anything about, they were just clumped that day I guess. Going back to the original photo, they look the same as in the edited one. I will probably resubmit this photo with the changes, it does look better. Thanks! #1542594Darla Cobus July 08, 2005
