Description

The Charango is the only stringed instrument native of the Andes. Fashioned after the spanish guitar the charango appeared in the 18th. century between Bolivia and Peru. It is made either from an armadillo shell or wood. This instrument has 10 strings and is rather small in size so that the sheperds may carry it easily while herding their llamas.
