Taken during the Eddie Aikau 25th Anniversary surf contest...this crazy guy on the jet ski is part of the AWESOME Hawaiian water safety patrol...they are there to watch over the surfers in case of accidents.
This contest is so rare to see because it can only happen if the wave faces reach at least 40 feet! It happened 12/8/09 and it was only the 8th time in 25 years!! Very exciting day!
