Thanks to those who have emailed, also! I have a lot of nerve trying to give ANYONE photography advice...in one word: persistence. Shoot often. Don't rely on past success. There are some contests I try that aren't into the kind of photos I produce, so don't get discouraged. I've tried many different contests in the last 5 years. Take enough photos and the sheer volume will produce some winners along the way and you'll learn who likes what and improve your shooting along the way. You don't have to have the most expensive equipment to capture good images. Above all...just HAVE FUN!
