Cactus Flowers

Description

From a past trip to the North Carolina Outer Banks comes a trio of cactus blooms. I've said this to others here, but it always amazes me that such pretty flowers would associate with such an otherwise unfriendly plant! Still very cold here, plenty of snow on the ground and little to no sunshine.

I agree Monnie, pretty. #1223324

Ditto
Also wonder about this Cacti which grows wild even as far north as here on Long Island. Every Winter they flatten out and shrivel up looking for all the world to be done for. Only to come back strong every spring.

Happy Shooting

A pleasing composition with the line of three cactus blooms running diagonally from corner to corner through the frame. The bright yellow flowers and fragile looking stamens such a textural contrast to the dark green thorny arms that surround them. The insect in the center of the bottom bloom, the finishing complement to this trio. Congratulations Monnie on your finalist selection!! #8406203
