So many beautiful, colorful fins but it's those venomous top dorsal spines you have to watch out for! (Altho, contrary to popular belief, the venom of the lion fish is usually not fatal to human beings but it will make you very sick.) Photo taken at the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, TX.

Been absent for a while - besides the usual holiday rush, both of our mothers (ages 90 and 93) had bad cases of laryngitis plus chest colds -both are on the mend now, thankfully! Have missed many of your wonderful photos - I'll try to catch up!
