Whether it was your daughter who posed herself, or you who had her turn slightly, her torso is turned perfectly toward the light, but away from the camera. This is absolutely the most perfect and flattering position for a woman. I like the graceful positioning of her arms and hands. Beautiful!

The lighting on your daughter is also perfectly done, with slight backlight through her hair.

You have a beautiful daughter and her senior portrait is beautifully and quite professionally created. Both of you should be pleased. #8521847

Thank you SO much, Bunny! I have to admit, she did most of the posing with a small amount of suggestion from me. The hand placement, aside from that one pinky, is a trick I learned from a webinar by Sandy Puc..that if a woman has her hands open, they look more masculine.
Seems that shooting your own daughter's senior pics are a whole different ballgame than someone else's! There were easily 30+ images from those few hours that I absolutely loved, but this was MY all time favorite. Like you said, the light shining through her slightly blowing hair and the hint of a smile is what did it for me. The only time she had available was, unfortunately, at high noon, so lighting was quite a challenge. I had to use a very large reflector to shade her on this one but still used some fill flash to even it out. #8521921
