Freedom!

A forgotten favorite taken with my 40D. Manual,F/8, 1/200, ISO 400, hand held. Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Virginia. As we approached this pack of wild ponies one white horse broke away from the herd and began galloping down the shoreline, one of the birds that stays with the ponies took off flying beside of it. It was such a wonderful experience to see these horses running free...

OOoooo, I was hoping you would have a new posting here today, Amanda. I check every day for rewards like this. An outstanding moment in your day of shooting. I would have been out of my skin with excitement seeing this unfold, and you are amazing for keeping your wits about you to get the capture. With all that happening, you still bring in the better photo with the best comp simulataneously showing the immediacy of moment AND a strong sense of place.[It's not the camera, man, but the camera person.] #8136301
