Very nice composition and colors. I have an F100, how do you set yours for macro? #26648

Thanks Jean. The digital subject program button is the top button of four located to the right of the LCD on the back of the F100. It has a picture of a flower next to it. Pushing this button once automatically sets the lens to macro setting and can be accessed in either auto-recording or multi-function recording modes. In auto-recording mode, each time the digital subject program button is pushed, the camera will cycle through the preset subject programs in this order. Macro, portrait, sports action, landscape, sunset, night portrait and programmed AE. In multi-function recording mode the button cycles macro on/off only. See page 29 of your Minolta Dimage F100 instruction manual for complete details. The F100 has a fixed focal length macro mode and can be focused at 0.7 feet from the subject. Not the best macro ability out there, but sufficient for most applications. #68577

Thanks Lem, I really appreciate the assist! One more question, what is the best distance from your subject to get a sharp macro focus? If that is on page 29 you don't need to answer. I'll check it out. Thanks much again, Jean #68599

The F100 macro focusing distance is about 7 in. to 24 in. From the CCD, not the end of the lens. You can't get in real close but the 114mm lens setting in macro lets you get close enough for most applications. Use a tripod, manual focus and the self timer to ensure super sharp close ups. Good luck and have fun experimenting! #68633
