Getting this whole group into one image is only possible during the rutting season, in which the big male deer keeps as many females together, fighting over them with other males who try to steal the ladies away. This male (you can see his antlers if you look carefully) was very strong and had this big herd collected, with a lot of females and there youngsters. So this is why there are so many on the image.
