Shaded Moonscape

(I just realized that this is still flipped and inverted since it's the image taken directly through the telescope eyepiece)

How on earth do you get shots like this with Kodak Easy Share 7300????? #251174Andrew Laverghetta May 19, 2005
Yeah, I was wondering if somebody was going to say something about that. I have a Newtonion Refractor/Reflector telescope that I've never really done anything with until I became re-interested in astrophotoraphy. I tried to use one of my SLR's, even with the lens off and no lens on the telescope but I couldn't quite get it in focus. I read somewhere else that if you use a point and shoot camera with a small enough lens that you can use it on a telescope with the lens still in the telescope. I basically just looked got the moon in focus in the telescope, held the camera up, gave it an exposure compensation of -2 because the moon is so bright and everything else is so dark and took a few pictures to make sure one worked. Thanks for your interest! #1369312Lynn Monroe May 27, 2005
I'm still learning this site, finally found my way back to see if you'd responded to my question. It is an awesome shot and thanks for telling me how you got it. You really take some beautiful pictures. Thanks again. Please check out my gallery and tell me what you think. I realize I have a long ways to go compared to some of the photos I see here, but everybody needs feedback and suggestions as to what could help them get better. What I love is scenery and sunsets/sunrises. #1403652Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
