Corner

Description

Film: Kodachrome 64
Very recently painted shed found on a farm. The slat siding is obviously very old, weathered and repainted many times. Found the texture of the slats interesting along with their pattern using a radical corner perspective showing their ends.

Started to use a 35mm to compose this perspective of the shed corner, but it looked bland through the viewfinder. Put on a 24mm and the noticeably exaggerated perspective looked much more energetic. Focus distance was near minimum to increase radical perspective and keep a door on the left out of the frame. Weather was overcast, but the flat lighting did not lose texture detail. Placed critical focus on board ends (the corner), then stopped down to maximize depth of field until shutter speed was 1/30th, as long as I dared to shoot it held. Checked depth of field preview in viewfinder and it looked acceptable. Placed corner off-center to keep it more interesting and provide more energy to a horizontal composition.
