Description

A Puyallup Fair National Photography Contest Finalist in 2007. Macro shot of this gardener snake trying to figure out if I was friend or foe based on the smells it was getting from it's tongue. I found it sun bathing on the black top in my Aunt's driveway. It did strike at me once while I was trying to get close with the camera but since it's not poisonous I kept shooting till I got a good shot! I got 3 nice shots that I'll put in this week. Camera hand held on auto macro mode.

Great find and super capture Lori! last summer I stopped on the side of the road because I found a garter snake sunning itself. I got a few pics, none this close though, and a few cars went by me and must have thought I was crazy. I made sure it got out of the road so it wouldn't get hit. #1369685
