The Wind Mill
Uploaded: August 10, 2009
"De Immigrant"
Fulton, Illinois
(This authentic Dutch wind mill was constructed in the Netherlands, then dis-assembled and shipped to Illinois where the builders re-assembled it. Made of wood, it sits on the banks of the Mississippi River - one of only two such working wind mills in the USA actually producing grain with the power of the wind. You can buy the stone-ground flour in the shop on the lower level and it's also sold at certain markets in the area.)

You had a beautiful day for this shot, love the sky. I seen a lot of these in Holland years ago, they would send certain messages by turning the blade at a certain angle and the canvas they use on the blades were also used, they sure are interesting. Beautiful shot Nadya #7834745Sam Britt August 10, 2009
