Description

At the right moment, off they'll flutter on the wind - countless tiny seeds from countless summer flowers in Mother Nature's endless dance of renewal and re-growth. And if that's not Creative Power, I don't know what is!

Funny thing. I watched a couple of episodes of Red Dwarf yesterday. One had a simulant in it. It was remarkable how like the Borg it was. #7809959

Thanks for all your terrific comments! This is not a repeat... I do have a fascination with these wildflowers so by now, I'm sure I've got a hundred photos fairly similar to this! LOL They do make such great models if the light is right... By the way I'm finding that this monthly theme takes a bit of thought! You too??? Challenging, I'd say! #7811965

I really appreciate all your comments! Thanks! These are really not "unique" at all... in the midwest (USA), this very common field-flower grows anywhere it finds an open spot! Here in the country there are acres of them - white and lacy at their prime and really beautiful. This shot depicts another, later phase of life.

The actual name is "daucus carota" (wild carrot). It is also called birds' nest or bishop's lace primarily in the UK. They say the roots are edible but only when the plants are very young! After that they get too woody. #7812628
