Thank you, Jack. What looks like a grid is a very smooth, irridescent fabric.

Thank you, Ravindra. Before I had studio lights and softbox, I used a milky white, translucent cutting board (like in the kitchen,) to diffuse my flash. This is an example where I used it to diffuse my off-camera flash as a soft backlight to the subject.
