Christie..I'm going to be honest here...I'm not a fan of this effect..I think it takes away the "art" of being a photographer...hope you understand what I mean..I do like the variations of the pink..have fun with your trial, free is always good!! #7739221

I like this one Christie..i think I would even try to make it look more like a painting... #7740192

I agree with Anthony :) I love the color and softness - reminds me of an O'Keeffe :) #7740242

I think this is lovely as is. I like the pastel effect and the softness here. There is always more than one way to interpret an image and you've created a lovely one

Thanks everyone! This was a pink rose that had a bunch of wrinkles and stuff to it and so it really wasn't a pretty photo without some kind of effect to cover up the flaws.
Tony, I tried getting the effect stronger, but even 1 number higher causes all the layers of the rose to disappear into a blob of pink.
Vicki, I know exactly what you are saying. My husband absolutely hates it when I do something like this. He thinks a photo should look like a photo no matter the flaws - "and if it's that flawed I shouldn't be shooting it.". But, since I love photos, oil paintings and watercolors, why not combine them and see what it does to a photo that I'd otherwise have to toss? But, for the most part, I agree and I do like my photos to look like photos. And thanks for your honesty, I really do appreciate it. #7741428

Keep with it Christie. That program has tones of potential. I tried it also but just don't have the artistic skills to get the most from it. Might have tried more if I had a tablet.

I get the same "stuff" from my wife about correcting images but it's a bunch of hooey. The camera can't begin to capture what the eye sees and it's up to the artist to find the image he wants so he can display it.

Ansel Adams said "I don't take a picture, I make it" Go for it!! #7741955

I can never get over how that filter really makes photos look like paintings. I think this one works well in that category and has a nice soft look to it. #7742038

Hi Chirstie ~ I like the photo with the paint effect. Variety is the spice of life and the creed of any type of artist....so why not try different things if the orginal photo isn't perfect! To be or not to be....Be what? A straight photo no alterations at all? A painted photograph? A black & white? A digital file with so many layers to make it look perfect? Digital Artistry that's what I call it. So, like Dale suggested ~ Go for it! lol #7742895

I really like the pink, (I so love) pink, I really like the painted effect of this picture. But what I don't like in this picture is how light the upper half of the picture is. I am wondering if you darken or tone down the brightness in this picture before you did the painted effect would it not appear so light. the detail is almost lost on the upper petal. #7743439

Christie I love the painted effect. So soft and pretty. Snap art is a blast and as Debbie has shown us some great stuff can be done with it, and so can you by seeing this shot. #7751936
