cool...congrats on the EP #7742886Susan M. Reynolds July 15, 2009
Mega Kudos on the EP and a great job of focus and SC. Love it! :) #7742910Michael Kelly July 15, 2009
Bobby since you posted this in the Club gallery I assume you want some comments.First this is a great shot with wonderful colors in the SC area. I love how you see the body of the bee through the wing. Detail is wonderful too.
The composition is off as your subject is crowded into the lower left corner. If you have room on the shot or there is not another good reason to have him there I would bring the bee out to a much more normal ROT position. I would like to see his eye up and to the left in the normal ROT upper 1/3 position. #7743102

Thanks all for the comments :) As always they are appreciated :)Is "because I wanted him there" a good reason? Hehe :) I see what you are saying, but I've never been much for "normal" ;) I tend to do my photos the way I want to do them, whether it follows normal "rules" or not :) I'm a rebel! LOL
That being said, I really do take any and all suggestions to heart and I do appreciate them all! :) So please don't stop suggesting new angles, etc! :) You're right, I did put it in the gallery for comments! :) #7743126

Ok, I went back and pulled the original photo to try to figure out what went on in my head that put the bee in his position. In the lower left, there was a big empty space which I remember I didn't like. I know I wanted the bee in his current position, but I didn't plan on having him that close at first. The flowers you see in the lower left were cloned in to full the space. Then when I cropped it, I didn't like how the cloning looked in some of it, so I cropped it closer. I liked it much better, so then I thought "hmmm, what if I cut it even closer?". So I did and I ended up liking it even more :) #7743154

Bobby - really cool shot with a great use of SC! My only other comment was going to be that more space was needed in the lower left, but you have already addressed that! #7743319Bobby R. Strange July 15, 2009
Thanks, Debbra! I was afraid I was going to come off as some jerk that doesn't take suggestions well, lol. The SC was tough on this one, but I like the results a lot :) #7743359Jeanine M. Bailey July 15, 2009
I really like the SC here Bobby!!! :) I think this is a pretty cool shot but do agree with a little more space on the left! #7743488Debbie E. Payne July 16, 2009
Bobby, I'd have to agree with the "little more space on the left" crowd. But congrats are still in order for a very nice shot! #7744716Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
