Out of Place

Uploaded: June 15, 2009

I saw this lone SUNflower towering head and shoulders above a field of SAFFlowers while I was riding my bike this afternoon. It was hard not to notice it as it stood out like a sore thumb, so I thought I'd come back with my camera at sunset to take its picture. The sky didn't have a lot of the ideal photogenic clouds, but contrails left by crop dusting planes added some much needed texture to the sky. The contrails also did a good job of showing off the setting sun's colors.
