Description

Not a great shot, just a fun one. While doing a ruffed grouse survey, I found 3 baby mountain lions on the trail. This one acted playful at first, then thought better of it and hid behind a bush. Never did see the mother. Picture taken from about 100 feet, cropped and enlarged, so fuzzy.

Although the picture is blurred a bit, the subject is absolutely amazing! You're very lucky NOT to have seen the mother! Congratulations on your experience! #237573

Thanks for the comment Scott. The grouse survey requires hitting the trail an hour before sunrise, so I have been happy not to encounter the bears or moose at night that I have seen after daylight, and now the lion. After dawn, the flashlight goes into the bag, and the camera comes out. What fun! #1262036
