Description

With these set of photographs I wanted to capture the great lines of the giant oaks that form a canopy framing this beautiful, majestic Greek-revival style antebellum home. I spent the day moving around shooting from different angles and directions. I walked up on the levee to get a different prospective, shooting down on the home. I used a polarizing filter to cut the glare of the afternoon sun and to give me the rich colors of the grounds surrounding the house. What I wanted to accomplish was to have the viewer be able to go back in time and envision Scarlett O’Hara waiting on the balcony for Rhett Butler to come home. Taken in the afternoon at the end of the path of oaks.

Thanks Josie. Can you believe that those Oaks were planted 100 years prior to the house being built. Historians are not sure who planted them or what happened to the person who did but they are about 300 years old. #7532279
