On the Road to Sedona
Uploaded: February 11, 2003
Taken with a Canon 35mm slr 50 mm lens. We were heading to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix when I decided to pull over and take this shot. There wasn't a lot of touching up to do on this one. I used levels to adjust the tone and Unsharp mask .

It looks like a John Ford directed movie location. That would probably be black and white though. The cliff faces are so colorful. And pastel. Nice effect against the green foreground and blue sky. #22325Brian Donaldson May 26, 2019
Thank you Lem. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I did use a little color saturation on the hills. I think I left that out of the description. Sorry. #52251Gary H. Minish May 26, 2019
Very pretty scene, Brian! Nicely done. #52356Jill Battaglia May 26, 2019
Very nice! That's "bell rock" on the left. I'm surprised you needed to saturate. I couldn't get over how really red the rocks and even the dirt were when we were there!! :-) #52417Brian Donaldson May 26, 2019
Gary and Jill, thank you very much. I appreciate your comments. The scenery in that area is amazing. You're right Jill the rocks were very red in reality. Unfortunately the negative for this image was destroyed, so I had to scan the photograph. Sometimes when scanning a photo I find the colors have a tendency to "wash" out slightly. For that reason I prefer to scan negatives when possible. Even if they are black and white. #52532
