Nice piece of art, Brian. :-) Looked at your gallery. Nice stuff. I especially like the dream photo (statue and gazebo). #22192

Thank you Patricia. I appreciate the words of encouragement. Do you have a gallery on this site? #51936

Hi Brian. Yes, I do have a gallery. Click on my name and it'll take you there. I see we have something in common. Your grandfather was a newspaper photographer, and I've worked as a newspaper editor for more than 20 years. :-) #51946

Hi again Patricia. For the longest time I balked at the prospect of showing my work to people I didn't know. I thought it was good, my wife and other members of my family thought the same. But what about strangers? I entered several contests in the local area and managed to win a couple. I won with Olga, which was kind of a surprise. After seeing the wonderful work that you have posted, and receiving the compliment that you have given, I feel much more confident. Thank you.

Did you get your "feel" for a photo in the photo class you took? Or through your experience as an editor?

A little more on my grandfather. He was actually a jack of all trades for a small newspaper in Anderson, Indiana. He ran the printing press and took some odds and ends photos for the paper. #52256
