Very interesting subject. Is this a real sculpture? I love the coloring. Did you use a sepia filter or is this just the warming colors of the time of day? Again very interesting. #1159170

James Reininger March 09, 2005

Hello Lori,

Let me first say thank you for the nice comments. Yes, it is a real sculpture. It is very popular sculpture in the Minneapolis area. If I am correct it was given to Minneapolis by its sister city in Norway. The spoon was a logo for one Minneapolis's businesses (I believe Pillsbury), while the cherry was a symbol of the Norwegain city - Hence the pairing of the Cherry and Spoon. It about 20 feet high and about 30 feet long. On this night there was a snowstorm. The clouds were low and were reflecting the lights of Minneapolis. Because of this, I decided to use the "sunset" filter on my Nikon 3100 Coolpix camera. I find this feature good for picking up yellow and reds. Once I download the picture, I did adjust the photo to lighten it and add a little bit more red. #1159310

While your photo is admirable, you've made a huge error. The sculpture is at the Walker Art Center, NOT the Warker. It would also be more professional if you credited the sculptor, Klaus Oldenburg as well. After all, if he hadn't created the sculpture in the first place, you wouldn't be taking photographs of it. #1451063

James! really good shot. Only one question. Is Patricia an ex spouse or girlfriend or something!!!! Really PICKY response there!Great capture (even if your typing is lousy!) #1857118

James Reininger September 20, 2005

Hello Kathryn, thank you for your nice comments. Patricia's response was kinda of a surprise. However, I noticed that there was no link to view her photos. I am assuming that she is a true critic. Someone with no talent, but someone who has a desire to trash other people's work. #1858990
