Description

Oh the delights awaiting for all the little girls at Disney World's Magic Kingdom! I couldn't resist this shot as we were heading towards the castle as I captured this little "lady" in all her finery. Only the MIckey Mouse hair pin gives a clue about where she is!

Fantastic!!!

This is magical and mystical.
Very interesting and intriguing.

Wow, wow, I love it. #1049617

This is an awesome find, another one from disney world I presume? Great capture...I think you could also make another dramatic shot of this little girl by croping just below the shoulders and just L of the circle on the R (maybe, not sure if it will work). Just an idea the shot as is, is classic.:) #6877574

Debbie E. Payne December 10, 2008

I think I understand what you are thinking of - basically just a head and shoulders from behind shot. I don't think I can crop it that close because the resolution wouldn't be that good. As is, I brought it up A LOT from Camera Raw, as I had sorely underexposed this image. It has a Renaissance-type of look to me until you spy the Mickey Mouse hair adornment, but that is part of it's charm, as well.n There were all kinds of little girls dressed as Belle, Jazmine, Snow White, Tinkerbell, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Did I miss any? I just cringe when I take even a shot of the back of a child in case the parent turns around. Hence most of my grab shots are out of focus, but I did okay here. Thanks for your comments, Sue and Irene -- you hit the nail on the head when you used magical to describe the Disney experience and this charming little lass! #6877613

Graham Robards December 10, 2008

Wonderful Debbie! Can't you do a lot with RAW.

Some of the shots I have done in jgeg ended up in the delete bin.

This photo does have tha tmystical charm. I love the colour. ~Pat #6877620

Reaching way back into my Art History classes in college. this is somehow reminiscent of the colors Carvaggio used way back when. If I'd exposed correctly it would have been just another picture of a little girl in Disneyland. This "mistake" turned out quite to my advantage. Get a load of her shoes. I'll bet the parents (who were cropped out on the left with all their shopping bags and bright colors) spent a small fortune on her outfit to go strolling around DW in!!!! They even have a DW beauty shop for the little girls to get their hair done and for a sum, you can even eat dinner and spent the night in the castle! Talk about glitter everywhere! Didn't see any little boys dressing up...Not a one!:) #6877626

Did you get your computer back, Irene?? My mouse is misbehaving these days. It's a remote one and I think its time to go back to basics with a wired one. Will save me a small fortune on batteries, as well. #6877634

Joan E. Hoffman December 11, 2008

I love, love, love this shot!! I am still learning all that you can do with RAW, but it has saved a few from the bin for me!! So glad you could save this wonderful work! #6878935

Graham Robards December 11, 2008

The Drover's dog I did tonight was RAW Joan, it becomes easy after awhile, what software do you use? ~Pat #6879322

Love the feel to this shot and the mickey mouse charm in the hair is icing on the cake! Wonderful work and glad you made one of those "good" mistakes! LOL! :~) #6879365

Dale Hardin December 11, 2008

Debbie, this is absolutely charming and I love the look of it.

Reading the postings on this wonderful capture I noted you said you had cropped out the parents etc on the left. Would love to see you re-crop this image to avoid the clipping of her dress on the left and instead clone some unwanted areas. #6879755

Aimee C. Eisaman December 11, 2008

I would like to see the original also because this would make a great center weighted shot if possible! #6879861

Debbie E. Payne December 11, 2008

My original seems to have momentarily disappeared but I did try a bit of selective coloring on this image. I know I need to redo it and be more careful with a smaller history brush, but does anyone think this also works as a different version of the shot. This is just a first round... #6882147

Dale Hardin December 11, 2008

I like the original posting much better. #6882252

Aimee C. Eisaman December 12, 2008

I like the first one better as well! The color of the stone is what gives it that renaissance feel to it! #6882889

Debbie E. Payne December 17, 2008

I agree, Aimee. It is definitely the green that makes it work. #6904155

Debbie E. Payne January 21, 2009

Thank you, Christine, UB and Aimee. I just thought she was such a perfect little princess. Was delighted to see this one get this far. Probably my best shot at Disneyworld outside a few of my animals. Anyone who has been to DW and seen all the little girls dressed to the nines at an amusement park will be able to relate to this. It is so funny to see them strutting around like royalty! I might have wanted to dress up like this to go to Disneyland, but my daughter wouldn't have been caught dead in anything like this; especially at a place you are supposed to have "fun". #7065425

I WISH I WERE AT DISNEY WORLD RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE...

If I dare to click my heals will it really happen?! Ha! #7292045

Debbie E. Payne March 16, 2009

I was really lucky being able to get this one. You know, the stealth photographer, that I am. I doubt if she is recognizable. Lots of little girls with their hair up wearing the same outfit. I love the old-fashioned kind of look. Thanks for looking, Laura. it's been a while since I've talked to you. #7292976

Debbie E. Payne March 16, 2009

Wow! It's been a long time since I've ended up on this thread. It appears that I have a lot of congrats to say thank you to! I apologize, Linda B., Aimee, Dale, Debbra, Ulysses, and Christine (we WILL get together in April...somehow.) The NG thing would have been more fun with you! #7292993

What magic and fantasy! Brillant work and beautiful capture. Exquisite! Simply lovely! #7972471

Debbie E. Payne September 22, 2009

Thank you for stopping by, Candice. I had high hopes for this one and made it pretty far, actually. If only I could have posed her. This was one of my infamous "grab shots". I wish I were better at "asking for the shot"! Glad you like it, too. #7972952
