Outstanding portrait of your beautiful cat among the decorations, Donna!! This is beautifully presented against the white background and taken with vivid color and ultra sharp detail!!! #1047308Donna M. Dunaif December 06, 2008

Donna, How did you get the white background? I have seen this technique so many times, but I can't figure it out. I love this shot and would like to do something similar with my dog (if he'll hold still for it!) Love it! #6860480Donna M. Dunaif December 06, 2008
Thanks, Anne and Debbie. To answer your question, Debbie, the "correct" way to get a pure white BG is to light it separately from the subject (usually with a light on each side...). I usually work in settings where there isn't enough room to do that, so I do the best I can, then clean up the white background in Photoshop: duplicate the original layer, then increase the brightness and then apply a layer mask so that the subject's brightness is not increased.
Good luck getting your dog to hold still. It helps to have someone helping you so that he/she can attract the dog's attention and get him/her to look at the camera :->
